4 Worlds of a Young Person - A Socio-Ecological Perspective

This perspective aims to connect young people to their four worlds—their respective geographical communities, cultural communities (e.g., sport), school/work context, and peer and family relationships (adapted from Bronfrenbrenner, 1986) and has suggested that the behaviour and development of a young person cannot be explored in isolation from their environment.

Bronfrenbrenner also stated that “all children need at least one other person who is irrationally crazy about them.”
